A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Let's be real, you're paying a premium for that famous Hue reliability and polish. Also, this is all about ambience. It’s not meant to be a primary task light, so if you're trying to flood a bright room in the middle of the day, you'll still need your main lights on. And while the basic Bluetooth control works, all the really cool features—the multi-room automations, remote control, syncing with your TV—they all require the separate Hue Bridge. If you’re trying to avoid another hub or are building on a tight budget, there are definitely cheaper, if less refined, lights out there.

When you place it a few inches from the wall, its diffuser creates this really smooth, even wash of light with almost no weird hotspots.
